Why Students Do Not Normally Have Affordable Car Insurance

Are you a student? Do you have a child who is a student? Searching for affordable car insurance rate? If you are a student with a car or you have a child who is a student, you may be surprised to find it hard to get affordable car insurance. Even if you shop around, it seems that car insurance companies do not like student driving car. Is this true?

It is true to some extent. Car insurance companies do not hate students. Car insurance companies hate students who are reckless or have bad driving record.

Students, being young and inexperienced, often behave in a way that is considered reckless and risky for car insurance companies to accept their application.

Purposely or not, young people might get many speeding tickets, moving violations, parking tickets, and many other things. It is just a common sense that this kind of action might be ended up in an accident. Of course, accident is the main thing that a car insurance company tries to avoid. Thus, these kinds of actions are considered risky by car insurance company and resulted in a high car insurance rate.

Even if you get tons of speeding tickets and any other bad things in your driving record, you are still able to get an affordable car insurance. What you have to do is to shop around long enough. If you found one, the main thing you can control to get cheaper rate is the car insurance coverage. Different companies have different policies. If you shop around long enough, you might end up with affordable car insurance even with your bad driving record. That is the "punishment" for having bad driving record.

The good news is driving records are cleared in 3 years in most states. Also, if you hit 25, your driving record will also improve significantly.
